What is Flower Essence DialogueIntegrative Flower Essence Dialogue, also called Flower Essence Dialogue, is a transformative process, based on dialogue and interaction. The working theories behind it can best be explained through somatic psychotherapy and polyvagal theory, by the connection between thoughts, emotions and the nervous system. The purpose of IFED is to shift the individual’s inner reaction and feelings towards a highly stressful or challenging memory, thought or experience. This allows the client to cleanse their mind and rise above the obstacles that may hinder them from becoming the best version of themselves.
Embracing your emotions and recognizing the negative, often uncomfortable and scary feelings, can be a challenging experience. For some, taking the plunge can even bring about pain which is where the IFED comes into place. It allows the healing process to occur more smoothly, relax the body and the mind and help the client work through their issues in a safe, accepting and compassionate environment. The process begins by identifying the problematic core thoughts and repeating them out loud. During this part of the therapy the flower essences are applied. They help the client relax and guide them through the negative emotions, eventually leading them to a calm state of mind. In this state of mind, the client has the strength, capacity and confidence to see their issues for what they are – dysfunctional, often false beliefs – and begin shaking them off. This process is repeated as many times as necessary to uproot the stressful, disruptive core patterns. Sometimes, this process may take place up to 30 times in a single session. At the end of the session, we recommend plenty of rest, water and highly nutritional food to nourish the body and help the mind grow. |
